Ethel Rey Tan
Hey Ol' Bern, there's a high chance the baby's going to be a baby girl! This is the name we've came up with. Rey is actually her Chinese name, 瑞. It has some meaning to this both in Chinese and Japanese.
In Chinese, it means luck, the at-the-right-moment-at-the-right-time kind. This seems befitting of her as she came in a time when we were deciding to pack up and head to the US but then she came into our lives. A whole lot of events fell into to place since then.
In Japanese, it has a meaning of water(Mizu). This is also befitting of her as we've conceived her in Togura, Nagano, along the famous Chikuma River where the town's spring water comes from.
As for Ethel, I let Jing named her that. 😁
But I like that name...hope you like it too!
