Ethel Rey Tan

Hey Ol' Bern, there's a high chance the baby's going to be a baby girl! This is the name we've came up with. Rey is actually her Chinese name, 瑞. It has some meaning to this both in Chinese and Japanese.

In Chinese, it means luck, the at-the-right-moment-at-the-right-time kind. This seems befitting of her as she came in a time when we were deciding to pack up and head to the US but then she came into our lives. A whole lot of events fell into to place since then.

In Japanese, it has a meaning of water(Mizu). This is also befitting of her as we've conceived her in Togura, Nagano, along the famous Chikuma River where the town's spring water comes from.

As for Ethel, I let Jing named her that. 😁

But I like that name...hope you like it too!

Becoming a dad-to-be blog?

Hi Ol' Bern,
It's slightly over a week since I've blogged something here. Thought that you might want to know. We're going be a father soon. Went for a scan this morning and it shows the little one developing fine in J's womb. How amazing creation of a life is, it's a miracle unfolding. A mix bag of emotions come flooding in when you see live ultrasound pictures of the baby. All the worries about its well-being all came in that short 10 minutes.
Well, here's a picture of the little one. What sex would you hope the baby would be back in 2006, Ol' Bern?
