Back to my story about my trip to Bangkok. Sorry folks, I was too busy aka lazy to update my blogs...

Day 3 in Bangkok
Things just keeps getting stranger as days went by...Changed hotels yesterday, from a high class suite to a strange tall hotel called Baiyoke Sky Hotel. Gosh, this hotel is like located like in the middle of a Pasar Malam market. The lobby is like on the 19th floor and we stayed on the 62nd floor of it. The view was nice from the top but once you're on the ground, it looked like some shanty town. This was a place call Pratunum Market. It's like KL Chinatown meets Desker Rd kind of thing, freaky!
Ok...stranger times ahead, met up with my parents at WTC for dinner at MK Suki. While I was there, this old guy approached me. He was looking for a post office to make a collect call to HK, and so he asked me if he could borrow my mobile phone instead to call. Before I continue, let me tell you his story.
Apparently, he's a Singaporean working in HK, his wife's in Singapore working as a designer at Far East Plaza. He was in Chengrai to do some business in precious stone, that's when he got robbed of everything. So he had to fly back down to Bangkok to report to the Singapore Embassy. Now for the weird part. He called Hyatt HK to leave a message for his wife who will be heading there after she finish attending a funeral in Guangzhou, to tell her that he's in some predicament over in TH.
After the phone call, he went on with his story. The Singapore Embassy told him that he should call his family to tell him about his situation here but COULD NOT provide him with accomdations as it was under renovations (Something's fishy here, don't sound right). So I asked him how come the Embassy did this because I knew that they usually will help pay for accomdations. So he said that he have to call back to HK's Singapore Embassy to comfirm that he's staying in HK before they can proceed with the accomdation allowance. (Fishy point No.2, why HK and not directly to SG?) He went on, he asked for a drink and so I bought him a bottle of mineral water and we sat down to talk. He asked me if it is possible to get him a ticket to HK as he has no time to wait for his new passport to be done next week (Fishy point No.3, no passport how he even gonna get out of TH??). He asked if I'm able to spare some cash from the ATM to get him a ticket, by now, I was suspicious of him. How come he asked me to draw from ATM when I can actually pay it at the ticketing counter? I told him that I could not draw cash from my card because it was not accepted by the ATM machines here. Then he asked me if I've got cash in hand, but thankfully I only had a thousand odd baht with me. He then suggested, that he'll rather go back to Chengrai because he still haven't checked out of his hotel there and he will try to take a bus there. So I spared him 1000 Baht to get back to Chengrai. He gave me his SG address, his mobile number in HK and said that his wife will pay me back the cash. We both went separate ways.
Later it hit me that I might be punk'd by that guy. That strange day came to a close, not knowing if the guy's tell the truth.
